Itoshima.com exists because Itoshima is easy to reach and surprisingly hard to plan. It is an independent travel guide to Itoshima, its coast, hills and food — written to be genuinely useful whether you have an afternoon, a day or a weekend.
What we cover
- How to reach Itoshima from Hakata, Tenjin and Fukuoka Airport, and — just as important — how to get around once you are there.
- Which tours are worth booking, ranked honestly and updated as ratings change.
- What to see: the married rocks, the Sunset Road, the sea cave, the waterfall, the temple, the oyster huts — and what each is like in different seasons.
- Where to sleep, on the coast or in Fukuoka.
- When to come, and what the weather and crowds are really like.
How we research
Seasons, journey times and prices are checked against operators, transport companies, local tourism bodies and booking platforms, and reviewed regularly. Tour ratings and review counts come directly from GetYourGuide. Where a figure moves around — bus timetables, oyster prices, opening dates — we say “about” and tell you to check, rather than pretend to a precision nobody has.
Where we express an opinion, it is an opinion. We tell you when a day trip is rushed, when the bus is not a realistic option, and when the free view is the best one.
How the site is funded
We are a GetYourGuide affiliate partner and link to Trip.com for accommodation. If you book a tour or a room through a link on this site, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That is the only way this guide is funded — there is no advertising, no sponsored content and no paid placement. See our affiliate disclosure.
Corrections
Prices change, timetables change, cafés close. If something here is out of date or wrong, please tell us — we would rather fix it than defend it. Write to us on the contact page.
